This is a short post. Growing up I never ate matumbo. And now I understand why. My mom had a very weak stomach... very weak. If you said something inappropriate at the table she would not finish her lunch or dinner. Fastforward to my first matumbo meal. Growing up, our next door neighbors had the foulest mouthed parrot-- that's all I know, I was not curious enough to see how it looked. Almost every household on the block had a pet of some sort, mostly dogs (German shepherds, even the rare Mongrel) and cats. I watched these animals from a distance. A cousin of mine has a pug. To say that this dog gets preferential treatment is an understatement.

I just learned that my-look-alike Corinne Bailey Rae (hahaha, we don't look alike at all, not in this picture anyway) just lost her husband Jason Rae a few days ago. :(Jason was a saxophonist with funk band the Haggis Horns.
